THE ATLANTICS, A ROCKABILLY / COUNTRY AND RHYTHM ‘N’ BLUES BAND FROM DEVON, UK

The Atlantics formed in 2008 on the shores of the Atlantic in Devon UK, The Atlantics play rockabilly and country style rhythmn n blues. The band is led by Ruby Darnell (sax, vocals, steel guitar) and Paul Bennett (guitar and vocals) and they are joined for recording and gigs by Tom Collingham on bass and Ben Turner on drums.
After gigging across the UK for a few years and putting out their own debut, in 2012 they joined forces with the Western Star label (owned by Alan Wilson of The Sharks) and released ‘Another Time’. The album is full of the band’s own original tracks with a sound mixed from influences of rock n roll, country and blues.
The Atlantics did their first gigs abroad in May 2013 with 2 weeks in Norway and would love to get back out to Scandinavia. Once back in the UK, they got straight back into the Western Star studio to start recording for the new CD – it will be out in late 2013. All original songs – some country steel, surf twang and some rocked up sax.
